Standard residential service includes trash and rubbish removal and single-stream recycling. Pick-up is scheduled once a week. Please put barrels out by 7 a.m. on your day - handles facing the house / arrows facing the street - and allow 3 ft. from mailboxes, telephone poles and other objects.
Windsor Sanitation provides additional services at no charge, which you must call to schedule.
- Metal Pick-Up and Appliances – this service is available every week on your regular collection day. You must call to schedule pick-up. No call, no pickup.
- Bulk Collection involves oversized items that do not fit in your 96-gallon trash barrel, such as carpets (must be rolled and tied), furniture, sofas, chairs, mattresses and box springs, large toys and bundles of tied brush (4 ft. in length). Bulky items are collected as part of our standard residential service. You must call to schedule these pick-ups.
Call Windsor Sanitation to see if collection for a non-standard item can be handled for an additional charge, or to rent a dumpster for renovation projects, building materials, demolition, clean-up or clean out situations or other bulky items.
Additional Collections Include:- Christmas Tree recycling during the third week in January on your regular collection day. Please do not put the tree in a plastic bag.
- Spring Clean Up during Earth Day Week on your regular collection day, we will pick up your paper recycling bags of yard waste.
Guidelines for Windsor Sanitation Curbside Pick-up
- Windsor Sanitation has morning pickup routes
- Bring carts to the street by 7 a.m. on the scheduled collection day
- Carts should be placed within 2 feet of the curb
- Place carts at least 3 feet away from obstructions such as mailboxes, trees, telephone poles, etc.
- All material should fit inside the cart and allow the lid to close
- Extra carts can be provided for an additional charge
- Replacement of carts lost or damaged due to customer neglect will be billed at cost
- Do not place hot ashes or flammable items in the cart
- Do not put hazardous waste items in your cart.
Holiday Schedule
There will be no trash pickup on the following days. Pick-up will be one day later for the entire week.
